An information session about important steps in cleaning our rivers will be held in Algoma on Monday, March 20th at 2:30PM at Algoma City Hall. Rep. Joel Kitchens and other state officials will provide information about an effort to study the Ahnapee River that has expanded into a proposal to study all of the tributaries of Lake Michigan in Kewaunee, Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties. The first step in this process is performing a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) study. This study identifies sources of pollution and leads to solutions to mitigate or stop it.
Friends of Crescent Beach is mentioned in the press release because of our efforts to move the Ahnapee River up on the impaired waters list to a higher priority status. Please consider attending and encourage others to attend.
